XYZ Inc. is searching for a talented Supplier Quality Engineer in our Dallas, Texas office to assure supply of quality materials into the railcar supply chain.
In addition, the team must assure our materials meet regulatory requirements.
The primary role is to work with our set of suppliers and assure the quality regulatory compliance of their material into the railcar supply chain. This involves the assessment of new suppliers, evaluation of new parts, development of quality risk mitigation plans, managing supplier quality events, managing supplier related warranty events, and managing supplier related regulatory compliance events.
Key responsibility will be to execute these processes on day to day basis. The specific suppliers the person will be responsible for will include our raw material suppliers. The person will be required to have strong steel manufacturing knowledge. And the person will be expected to provide technical support in the area of steel to the Sourcing and Engineering teams.
Success requires good communication, liaising and interfacing with key cross functional team members (e.g. Engineering, Quality, Sourcing , plants, etc.).
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree (technical degree such as Engineering preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in steel manufacturing or distribution in a capacity that required troubleshooting and root cause analysis of steel quality issues
- Experience in quality is preferred
- Strong problem solving skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to write and speak Spanish is advantageous
- Quality certifications preferred
