Trinity Corporate IT is searching for a Supply Chain and Manufacturing Applications Project Manager in our Dallas, TX location.   Reporting to the Director-Mfg, Supply Chain and Logistics Applications Portfolio, the Project Manager will lead all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation through implementation and project close-out. While the position resides in Trinity Corporate IT, it requires constant collaboration with members of Corporate IT, Business Unit IT, Business Unit core team and management and external partners.

 

Responsibilities

This position encompasses three key areas of expertise and accountability in support of Trinity’s Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Logistics functions:

 

• Project Management

• Technology Management

• Relationship Management and Communication

 

Project Management

• Fully comprehends, and has experience, leading all facets of the systems development life cycle

• Requirements Development: Ability to identify a desired future state that addresses a business problem. Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks and workflow analysis.

o Drives consensus for a desired future state that meets the business problem and enterprise objectives

o Uncovers needs that business partners and end users would not be able to articulate on their own

o Identifies enterprise wide opportunities for solution leverage

o Develops requirements from business to functional to technical levels of detail

• Requirements Management and Analysis: Ability to manage requirements to the smallest set that will provide the biggest impact in advancing business objectives

o Understands business process complexity

o Influences business partner requirements in support of enterprise objectives

• Creating Compelling Business Cases: Ability to measure and communicate proposed project benefits

o Quickly adapts to changes in business strategy

o Helps business partners communicate solution value to key stakeholders

o Includes modeling total cost of ownership beyond initial acquisition cost

• Providing Accurate Project Effort Estimates: Ability to quantify project resource requirements

o Recognizes the implications of business strategy changes

o Effectively engages project stakeholders in the estimation process

• Develop detailed project schedules and perform all standard Project Management processes including progress tracking, resource allocation and utilization, change and issue management, and project documentation to ensure an on-time, within budget delivery

• Maintain and control the project budget including hardware, software, resources and 3rd party costs

• Manage deliverables from cross- functional teams ensuring they meet the defined timeline and quality

• Lead productive meetings at individual team, cross-functional team, sr. management and executive levels

• Perform risk identification, response planning and management to minimize impact and probability of risks

• Responsible for effective project communications to numerous stakeholders utilizing various methods

• Balance project scope/budget/schedules in accordance with requirements

• Manage complex business issues arising from the implementation of new processes or functions

 

Technology Management

• Architecture Management: Ability to lead the implementation of solutions that advance enterprise architectural objectives including an understanding of the dependencies between the layers of the technology stack including compute, data, transactional and analytics.

o Can guide solutions options and business partner decision making to minimize the amount of project investment divergence from target architecture

o Can identify opportunities for creating reusable enterprise services

o Can guide and manages interactions with technology vendors

• Designing for Usability: Ability to lead design solutions for end-user adoption and productivity improvement

o Can identify the requirements to ensure end-to-end service performance from the end user’s perspective

o Can gain business sponsor commitment for additional resources required to ensure usability

 

Relationship Management and Communication

• Communications and Change Leadership: Ability to communicate effectively across multiple constituencies to support project and organizational change objectives

o Effectively engages key knowledge workers and business sponsors in change management activities

• Business Relationship Management: Ability to engage business sponsors and contribute to their targeted business outcomes

o Can influence business partner decision making to optimize requirements prioritization

o Builds long-term relationships between multiple business partners to drive engagement in IT strategy

• Design Team Relationship Management: Ability to engage developers to ensure productivity and solution quality

o Educates developers on a project’s business context

o Effectively collaborates with geographically distributed teams

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience

• 7 or more years of  related experience including management of  projects

• Experience leading projects that support manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics applications.

• Proven ability to lead large, complex,  full-lifecycle enterprise  software,  implementation project(s) on time and within budget and scope

• Manufacturing and Supply Chain functional experience

• Understanding of Software Maintenance Lifecycle, to include production support, patching/upgrades, infrastructure and enhancements

• Solution development expertise

• Understanding of and experience with organizational change implications

• Business case/benefits case development expertise

• Business process design experience and track record of promoting process improvement

• Demonstrate expertise leading a solution development effort including typical project management tasks

• Work directly with developers to ensure functional / technical requirements are met

• Software requirements development methods including Agile user stories creation

• Familiarity of the iSeries server (AS/400)

• Working knowledge of SDLC including waterfall and agile, and project management methodologies

• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak to technical-level staff all the way up to summarizing communications for executive consumption

• Utilize project management software tools, such as MS Project or Daptiv, to effectively lead, manage, monitor and control project activities

• Demonstrated abilities to work in a matrix environment

• Advises, influences, and provides guidance to users and business partners over whom there is no direct authority

• Self-motivated and a problem solver

• Experienced in facilitation and negotiation

• Experience with Infor LX or BPCS is highly desired
