Welder (Level 2) Plant 8192
TrinityRail is searching for a dedicated team player to fill the open position of Career Level - Welder 2 in our Saginaw, TX plant 8192!
In this role, the Welder 2 uses jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics or work orders and uses manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance to equipment. Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches using manual, automatic welding and/or semi-automatic welding equipment. May lay out and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications. Observes all standard safety practices and maintains and completes all required records. Follows all safety rules and practices. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.
- May be used for employees who have some experience but are still in the “learning” mode

- Recognizes when it is necessary to stray from standard procedures and consults with higher levels before doing so
- Serves as team member
- Performs as Level 1 Welder
- Ability to weld out of position (vertical & overhead)
- FCAW (2G, 3G & 4G)
- May require working above ground (15 ft or more)
- Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.
- May require working in narrow or confined work spaces for extended periods of time
- Tasks may require physical strength and dexterity
- May require extensive kneeling, bending and standing for long periods of time
- 1 - 2 years of related experience
- Experience with MIG and FCAW is required
- Must be able to weld in all positions
- Must be able to pass a weld assessment
- Candidates need be open to working 1st or 2nd Shift schedules
