In this role, you will apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other wieldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches using manual, automatic welding and/or semi‐automatic welding equipment. You may lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies. Also, may position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools in an aggregate environment.
Required Skills:
- Perform basic MIG/TIG/Stick welding for construction and repair projects on Heavy Equipment and or equipment at the plant
- Working Knowledge of all welding, cutting and Fabrication
- Assists maintenance department with repairs to plant and equipment
- May inspect completed work for compliant to specifications
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Perform basic machine repairs on Heavy Equipment including machining work
Requirements:
- Understands the technical aspects of the job in the production of sand and gravel products
- Must be knowledgeable about mechanics of equipment in an aggregate environment
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- Must follow all safely rules, procedures and efficiently perform all essential functions
- Must be able to function as a team member
- Establish and maintain effective working relationship with supervisor, co-workers and customers
- 3 to 5 years’ experience required
