Security Installation Technician

- Perform service/installation of access control, intrusion alarm, closed circuit television systems, and other various security related systems security patrols by company vehicle and/or on foot, depending on location.
- Perform upgrades and additions to systems in order to increase functionality and usability.
- Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair systems, as necessary.
- Update computer systems appropriately to reflect new and monitored equipment, including closed circuit television cameras, access control devices, and intrusion alarm systems.
- Prepare and maintain records and documentation pertaining to assigned projects; specifically related to daily activity log, time and materials, key and material records, and inventory.
- Communicate regularly with other technicians, as needed, to coordinate and manage project timelines to ensure timely project completion.
- Provide status updates to leadership and customers on the status of work orders
- Manage the request of equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability for assigned projects; transport equipment for installation projects.
- Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety/security concerns for customers.
What you’ll need:
- High school education (or equivalent) required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Minimum of 2 years experience installing, servicing and maintaining security systems (or related industry
- Ability to travel 50 – 75%, domestic travel only; some overnight projects
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface effectively with individuals of all levels
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong IT aptitude and genuine interest in Information Technology
- Prior knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business and/or manufacturing environment preferred
