Lead Heavy Assembler
TrinityRail Maintenance Services is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Lead Heavy Assembler in our Hugo, OK plant!
In this role, the Lead Heavy Assembler:
- Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components sub-assemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment.
- Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements; repairing units or products that have failed to meet requirements.
- Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy sub-assemblies or complete units.
- May set up jigs and fixtures.
- Lays out reference points, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts of metal or fiberglass mold according to blueprint and layout specifications fabrication.
- May fabricate parts as required.
- Uses hand tools, portable tools, hoists and cranes to move materials, parts and assemblies.
- Monitors and adapts processes and scheduling to accomplish manufacturing goals
- Functions as a team leader by directing the work of others
- May be required to fill-in so that production goals can be met
- Applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of complex tasks
- Familiar with a broad variety of field's concepts, practices and procedures
- May operate specialized equipment that requires advanced skills
- Independent judgment and resourcefulness or sense of leadership are required
- Trains, instructs and directs work activities of employees
- May influence or impact others' tasks or decisions
- Leads team by assigning tasks
- Assists in completion of all tasks to meet deadlines
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership or supervisor role is preferred
- 4-6 years of Heavy Assembly or steel manufacturing experience
- Must be able to demonstrate effective leadership and strong interpersonal skills
- Should be customer service & people orientated
- Must be able to effectively organize the workflow of the production environment
- Must be able to plan the day-to-day task of the team
- Shift Hours: 6 AM - 4:30 PM Monday-Friday
