TrinityRail is searching for an experienced and talented team player to fill the open position of Senior Equipment Technician in our Saginaw, TX manufacturing rail plant 8192!
In this role, the Senior Level, Equipment Technician: Uses blueprints, schematics, small/power tools and electronic test equipment to perform a variety of maintenance tasks and determine causes of operating problems in areas including but not limited to plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Performs preventative maintenance and electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs to production and mechanical equipment, machinery and components. Determines causes of operating problems, consults schematics and orders replacement parts. Performs high voltage electrical repairs (e.g. controls, relays). Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications using electrical and electronic test equipment. Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies production electronic components, parts, switch panels etc. May test new equipment and troubleshoots operation and makes minor adjustments to equipment. Maintains and completes all required records. Follows all safety rules and practices. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.
- May be used for employees who have full knowledge of the job duties and can operate a broad range of machines, tools, equipment etc.
- Work is somewhat complex

- Applies extensive experience, knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
- May operate specialized equipment and/or understand complex drawings and diagrams
- May have completed an apprenticeship and/or formal training
- Maintains technical certificates as required
- Work requires planning and judgment
- Determines and develops approaches to solve a broad range of complex problems
- May serve as a problem-solving resource to others
- Performs complex repairs on production equipment motors and mechanical components including basic pneumatics and hydraulics
- Able to read blueprints and schematics - pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical
- Troubleshoots electrical problems, performs preventative maintenance and testing on electrical wiring and components
- May require working above ground (15 ft or more)
- Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.
- May require working in narrow or confined work spaces for extended periods of time
- Tasks may require physical strength and dexterity
- May require extensive walking and standing for long periods of time
- 2-4 years of related equipment maintenance experience
- Candidates must be available and able to work Day or Night Shift schedule!
- Day Shift 5 AM – 3:30 PM / Nights – 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM (Monday - Thursday); some Fridays or Saturdays may be required as needed. List your availability on your application.
