Trinity Meyer Utility Structures is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Division Safety Director. 
 
In this role you will manage the Environmental, Health and Safety function to enable general and functional management to meet Trinity’s Environmental management policy. Manage a team of individual contributors responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs, processes and policies to safeguard employees, the general public and to ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
 
•Prepares, administers and maintains safety and environmental policies, procedures and records.
•Ascertains needs, plans, presents and coordinates training programs encompassing first aid, fire respiratory protection, hazardous communication, noise, personal protective equipment, emergency procedures and evacuation.
•Conducts plant safety inspections to assure compliance with laws, regulations and policies.
•Coordinates required changes in facilities to attain compliance by preparation of maintenance request and follow up inspections.
•Tracks safety goal progress, provides management with timely reports indicating status.
•Previews safety materials and implements those appropriate into company programs.
•Maintains required records such as OSHA 300 and Workers’ Compensation reports.
•Schedules industrial hygiene surveys. Reviews results and implements suggestions, as required.
•Maintains knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations.
•Prepares and submits environmental permits and reports (State/Federal/Corporate).
•Prepares waste reduction and disposal procedures and reports and provides direction for the proper disposal of all solid and hazardous waste.
•Coordinates activities with industry and governmental representatives as required.
•Attends meetings/seminars necessary to keep abreast of changing safety and environmental regulations, enhance management skills, as required by HR Manager.
•Co-Conducts Safety Supervisors Meetings on an as needed basis to discuss safety training needs, accident statistics and other pertinent parts to the Safety Program.
•Provides management with safety statistics for evaluating the effectiveness of the safety program and determining area that need improvement and attention.
•Coordinates the implementation and continuation of the JSA-JSO safety function.
•Advises Plant Manager and HR Manager with any environmental compliance issues which are related to the plants.
•Monitors safety and environmental expenses monthly and compare to previously established budgets.
•Conducts new employee safety orientation.
•Must maintain a positive work relationship by acting and communicating in a manner that exemplifies Trinity Meyer Utility Structures’ guiding principles so that an atmosphere of professionalism with fellow employees, management, customers and vendors is constantly present.
 
Required Skills
 
•Knowledge of OSHA and EPA Federal regulations relative to safety, health, and environmental issues
•Solid knowledge of manufacturing and division operations
•Ability to work well in a team environment is required.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is preferred.
•Ability to obtain and analyze data Excellent written & verbal communication skills
•Ability to maintain accurate reports and generate complete, timely reports
•Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of time
 
Qualifications
 
 
•Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in occupational health and safety; and one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Five years related experience as a supervisor and/or individual contributor
•Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation, or equivalent
