TrinityRail Maintenance Services is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of Quality Inspector - 2 in our Vidor, TX railcar plant!  
 
In this role, the QA Inspector: Makes visual/measured inspection/tests of materials/products to ensure conformance with standards and determines if product meets all requirements. Completes inspection records and reports and follows appropriate codes and regulations. May inspect incoming materials or plates, outgoing materials, or fittings and welds throughout the manufacturing process. May apply singular inspection process, such as hydro-static tests. May perform x-ray, destructive or nondestructive examination to verify specified dimension, strengths and other quality factors using measuring instruments and inspection equipment. May also perform magnetic particle inspection. Completes inspection records and reports. Familiar with appropriate codes and regulations. Follows all safety rules and practices. May be involved in safety committees or initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Used for employees who are considered “experts” and/or “specialists”
  • Works on a variety of complex duties and advanced tasks
  • Adapts processes, tools, equipment and techniques to accomplish manufacturing goals
  • Complete understanding of the job, company policies and processes
  • Applies extensive technical or trades knowledge and skill to complete complex tasks
  • Familiar with a broad variety of field's concepts, practices and procedures
  • May operate complex equipment and/or understand complex drawings and diagrams
  • Independent judgment and resourcefulness are required
  • Solves complex problems using advanced technical knowledge and creativity
  • May serve as a problem-solving resource to others
  • Expert knowledge and ability to teach application and use of quality sciences
  • Troubleshoots and repairs measurement/testing equipment and tools
Skills & Experience:
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.
  • May require working in narrow or confined work spaces for extended periods of time
  • May require extensive walking and standing for long periods of time
