In this role, you will prepare materials, surfaces and structures for coverage with paint, laminate, rubber or other material. Apply coatings to specifications and completes detailed special applications as appropriate to the surface and final product requirements. Determine and completes appropriate cleaning process of product. Handle and maintain cleaning equipment and materials including hazardous chemicals. Apply knowledge of chemicals and cleaning procedures for assignment. Follow all safety rules and practices. May be involved in committees or initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
• May be used for employees who have some experience but are still in the “learning” mode
• Works on semi-routine assignments
• Requires help from supervisors or others to complete new tasks
• Analysis and actions require instruction from higher levels
• Good knowledge of the job, company policies and processes
• Applies job skills to complete semi-routine tasks
• Some understanding of the technical aspects of the job
• Ability to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures
• Few judgment calls
• Recognizes when it is necessary to stray from standard procedures and consults with higher levels before doing so
• Purges surfaces with water and or solvents
• May operate hand held grinders
• Maintains and troubleshoots equipment and work environment
• May operate man-lift
• Serves as a team member
Requirements:
• Typically has 1-2 years of related experience
